William Gray oversees the strategic communications efforts of the organization and each policy department, and manages R Street’s growing public relations team.

Previously, William was communications director at Issue One, the leading crosspartisan political reform group in Washington, where he helped launch the first conservative political reform podcast, Swamp Stories. Prior to Issue One, he managed press and negotiated news partnerships as the media relations specialist for the Center for Public Integrity, one of the oldest nonprofit investigative newsrooms in the country; and was a producer at C-SPAN, delivering daily public affairs programming and coverage of Congress and the White House to viewers around the world.

William received his master of liberal arts in journalism from the Harvard University Extension School in Massachusetts and his BA in English from Centre College in Kentucky. In his free time he archives charts, props, and posters used by Congress and the Executive Branch as @FloorCharts.
