About Caroline

Caroline Melear served R Street as a resident fellow in finance before becoming director of its Finance and Insurance program.

She previously worked as an equity analyst at a single-family office in Palm Beach, Florida. Her focus was on financial technology companies and early stage fintech funds, experience that grounds her work in how private and public markets actually function. She passed the CFA Level 1 exam on her first attempt.

Caroline received the Maverick PAC Future 40 Award in 2022. She has held various leadership roles including president of the Palm Beach County Young Republicans and a board member of the Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee. She previously wrote for The Daily Caller and was a columnist for The Conservateur.

Her analysis has appeared in The Hill, RealClearMarkets, GovExec, and various other publications, and she has appeared on media outlets including Fox Business, CBS Miami, C-SPAN, and more.

Caroline holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University with minors in computer science and Spanish. While at FSU, she served as student senate president and completed an internship in the Executive Office of the Governor of Florida. She was also a member of the FSU Student Foundation Board and participated in College Leadership Florida.

Caroline is based in West Palm Beach, Florida.
