NFIP to double Treasury borrowing

“The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has stated that it will likely need to increase the borrowing authority of the NFIP from the Treasury, with its current $24.6bn in debt liable to double as a result of Harvey and Irma, according to RJ Lehmann, senior fellow at the R Street Institute.The NFIP’s current borrowing limit is roughly $30bn.”
