Kent Chandler
Resident Senior Fellow, Energy and Environmental Policy
Kent Chandler is a resident senior fellow in energy and environmental policy at the R Street Institute, leading the organization’s positions, strategy, and engagement on electricity policy.
Kent previously held notable positions including executive director (and later, chairman) of the Kentucky Public Service Commission and assistant attorney general in the Kentucky Office of Rate Intervention, where he advocated on behalf of consumers on energy and utility issues before local, state, and federal agencies.
He holds a juris doctor degree from Northern Kentucky University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Murray State University.
Kent lives outside of Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife and son.
