Between the outbreak of a global pandemic and aggressive trade wars, the last several years have been trying times for America’s farmers and ranchers.

In order to mitigate the damage from these events, policymakers have showered overly generous subsidies on America’s agricultural community. While well-intentioned, these subsidies flow primarily to wealthy agribusinesses, damage taxpayers and serve as non-tariff trade barriers that inhibit trade liberalization and hurt the environment.
