From Hill Happenings:

The Postal Service’s business model is broken. The agencies revenues are the same as they were a decade ago, and it has amassed $120 billion in unfunded liabilities. An agency stood up to deliver paper-based communications is struggling to find its place in a digital age featuring a rapidly-changing delivery landscape.

This panel seeks to help congressional staffers, policy wonks, and members of the media understand the magnitude of the Postal Service’s financial challenges, and will discuss reforms to help the agency adapt to the demands of the 21st century. Each panelist will have 10-15 minutes to speak, followed by a moderated question and answer session of approximately 20 minutes.

Panelists
Kevin Kosar, Vice President for Policy, R Street Institute
Robert Shapiro, Chairman, Sonecon
James Campbell, Attorney and author

Moderator
