On June 13, 2013, the R Street Institute hosted a debate with the Energy & Enterprise Institute, the Heritage Foundation, and the Heartland Institute on the question, “Are there any circumstances under which conservatives should support a tax on carbon emissions?”

At the end of the debate, in a room of 200 conservatives and libertarians, roughly 80% stood up to affirm that there was a strong conservative case for a revenue neutral carbon tax.
