Resident Fellow, Criminal Justice & Civil Liberties

About Logan

Logan Seacrest is a resident fellow in criminal justice and civil liberties at R Street, where he produces research and analysis on the justice system with a focus on civil liberties, technology, policing, and juvenile justice. His approach to policy draws on an interdisciplinary set of ideas, incorporating elements from criminology, business, and behavioral economics. His award-winning research has formed the basis for innovative criminal justice policy—from police body camera programs to statewide juvenile deflection initiatives—and has appeared in national publications including The Washington Post, NPR, and The Hill.

Before joining R Street, Logan served as a policy analyst for both the Nebraska Legislature and the Nebraska Supreme Court. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Colorado College in Colorado Springs and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Nebraska Omaha, whose College of Public Affairs awarded him their inaugural Alumni Excellence Award in 2024.

Logan also serves as chair of the J.C. and Jessie Seacrest Family Foundation Board. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife, Elizabeth, and their Yorkshire terrier, Maggie.
