About Casey

Casey Witte was a research and policy associate for the Criminal Justice and Civil Liberties Team at the R Street Institute. He provided general research support to members of the Criminal Justice and Civil Liberties Team, wrote op-eds and policy studies, offered administrative support as needed and conducted advocacy-based educational outreach to state and federal lawmakers.

Before joining R Street, Casey was the director of marketing for a Florida-based law firm and a research assistant at the University of Florida. As the director of marketing, he conducted data analysis and formulated marketing strategies to more effectively reach potential clients through various contact channels. As a research assistant, he worked in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) as well as the Warrington College of Business, where he helped to produce academic content in the areas of campaign finance regulations and U.S. Constitutional history.

Casey graduated from the University of Florida with two bachelor’s degrees (both cum laude) in political science and business administration as well as a certificate in public affairs.

Casey lives in Washington, D.C.
