Many informed backers and observers of automated driving systems have actively opposed California’s data-collection requirements as “garbage in, garbage out.” Ian Adams of the R Street Institute argued forcefully against anymandatory disengagement reporting. CEI also submitted coalition comments to the California DMV arguing against the same requirements.
