About Kara

Kara Stoller is responsible for implementing a coordinated fundraising strategy for R Street’s governance program and aligning donor interests with program strategy. She also manages the business development team’s daily operations and supports the business development director in drafting, setting, and implementing the fundraising strategy.

Before joining R Street, Kara was CEO of Steamboat Springs Chamber, whose mission is to enable businesses to thrive through economic, community, and destination development. Internally, she led a cross-functional team to organizational success while cultivating individual potential. Externally, she convened key stakeholders to identify and strategize around shared goals.

She previously served as the Chamber’s marketing director, creating national marketing strategies and destination management plans to drive visitation while caring for the local environment and people.

Kara lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with her husband, their daughter, and a black mouth cur pup named Henrietta.
