Juan Vega
Adjunct Scholar, Criminal Justice and Civil Liberties
Juan Vega is a criminal justice and national security professional with 20 years of legal experience, including service as a state and federal prosecutor and as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He currently serves as general counsel for a national tourism company.
In addition to a JD and an MBA, Juan has extensive experience prosecuting violent crime, firearms offenses, and narcotics trafficking, as well as advising law enforcement on complex investigations and interagency coordination.
His research and writing focus on transnational criminal organizations, Western Hemisphere security, and the rule of law, including the strategic implications of great power competition in Latin America.
