Jordan Nader

Jordan Nader’s work focuses on how market competition and limited, effective government can advance a cleaner environment while supporting a thriving economy. He monitors state and federal energy regulatory developments and analyzes how those decisions affect consumers, markets, and the energy sector.

Jordan came to R Street from the Public Staff of the North Carolina Utilities Commission, where he represented the using and consuming public in matters before the commission and acted on its behalf in the PJM Stakeholder Process. His work included investigations involving natural gas local distribution companies, electric distribution companies, renewable natural gas pilot programs, and energy efficiency programs. He also represented the End Use Customer Sector on the PJM Nominating Committee in 2024 and served as vice chair of the Members Committee in 2026.

Prior to that, Jordan served as an operating partner for a used musical instruments store in Cary, North Carolina, where he helped launch the business and navigate a rapid shift toward e-commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in his career, he advised large energy users in Ohio on the operational effects of proposed state and federal energy regulations, including work related to transmission allocation programs.

Jordan holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (with a minor in nuclear engineering) from The Ohio State University. He lives in Durham, North Carolina, with his wife, two sons, and their dog, Kaya.
