About Drew
Drew Johnson is a fellow in the Governance Program at the R Street Institute.
He is a public policy analyst, government watchdog and columnist who regularly appears on Fox News, Fox Business and CNN. Drew’s columns and op-eds have been featured in hundreds of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, National Review, The Daily Caller and Forbes. His research focuses on tax and budget policy, elections, technology, regulations and energy issues.
Additionally, Drew serves as a senior fellow at the National Center for Public Policy Research, a columnist at Newsmax and Townhall, and the public member on the Nevada State Board of Optometry. He founded, and is the former president of, Tennessee’s free-market think tank. Drew previously held positions at the National Taxpayers Union, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance and the American Enterprise Institute.
Drew earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Belmont University and a master’s degree in public policy from Pepperdine University. He resides in Las Vegas.
