About Danielle
Danielle Ulrich provides strategic leadership and oversight for R Street’s Project Management department, shaping and improving the core processes that move work from research to public policy
influence. She ensures that all program management functions including planning, budgeting, compliance, and cross-team coordination—are clear, effective, and adaptable to evolving needs. She also fosters a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration to strengthen organizational effectiveness in advancing R Street’s mission.
Danielle brings more than 15 years of experience in large-scale project management to her role, combining deep project management expertise with the principles of organizational psychology to help teams grow, stay motivated, and achieve strong programmatic results. Most recently, she served as vice president of program management at Social Impact, where she provided strategic guidance, quality assurance, and management to a portfolio of 10 long-term international monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning projects, as well as institutional support contracts.
Prior to that, Danielle served as managing director of programs for the Middle East and North Africa at Chemonics International. There, she focused on implementing programs in democracy and governance, peace and stabilization, health supply-chain management, workforce development, and human and institutional capacity development. She specializes in the implementation of multi-year, large-scale donor funded programming, remote management, and operating in dynamic contexts.
Danielle holds an MPS in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Maryland as well as an MA in international relations (with a focus on security policy) and a BA in international studies from American University. She lives in Maryland with her spouse, her mother, and four adorable cats.
