Trans-Atlantic Perspective on Artificial Intelligence Policy

The R Street Institute and the Center for Democracy and Technology have started a new AI project called the ‘Governance Research in Artificial Intelligence Leadership’ (GRAIL) Network. We’re co-hosting a panel discussion on April 19th in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) for a Trans-Atlantic Perspective on AI Policy.

GRAIL and KAS will bring together policy experts from both the US and Germany to discuss international competition in AI development and practical policy principles for the integration of beneficial AI technologies.

The public panel discussion will be held at the Mason and Rook Hotel from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. The discussion will feature:

– Tankred Schipanski, Digital Policy Speaker of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group and Member of the German Bundestag

– Remco Zwetsloot, Research Fellow at the Georgetown Center for Security and Emerging Technology

– Laurel Kuxhaus, ASME Congressional Fellow

– Moderated by: Caleb Watney, Technology Policy Fellow at the R Street Institute
