The Cost of Innovation: The Link Between Patents and Drug Prices

Recent polling shows that 8 in 10 Americans believe that drug prices are “unreasonable,” and a majority think that taking action to lower prescription drug prices should be the top priority for Congress. The link between patents and high drug prices is gaining attention in policy debates in the U.S, as it looks for solutions to tackle the drug pricing problem.

On Thursday, June 7, R Street Institute and I-MAK’s panel of experts will examine this link and whether reforming the regulation of patents and other exclusivities could help to address the drug pricing problem.
Panelists to be announced shortly.
A short reception will follow.
