Reducing Entry Barriers in the Development and Application of AI

Please join us for our first Cato Capitol Hill Forum on Emerging Technologies. The event will feature R Street fellow Caleb Watney, who will share the findings of his recent policy study, titled Reducing Entry Barriers in the Development and Application of AI. Caleb’s research attempts to address the many policy concerns associated with AI, including industrial concentration, economic inequality, lagging U.S. productivity, and the slow pace of its distribution. At the conclusion of Caleb’s presentation, participants will have an opportunity to engage with him directly on these and related issues.

About the Program:
The Cato Capitol Hill Forum on Emerging Technologies is a series of Capitol Hill roundtable discussions that explore the intersection between emerging technology and policy. As technological change occurs increasingly quickly, it is important to understand the potential impact various policy proposals could have on a free society. The program gives congressional staff the opportunity to engage with subject matter experts on a wide variety of issues.

This is an off-the-record* educational event open to
full-time congressional staff only. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate interns.

*Staff are advised that still photographs and general descriptions of the event may be used in future promotional materials produced by the Cato Institute.RSVP Here.
