Join us for a lively discussion about fiscal responsibility at the Department of Defense (DoD)—and how lawmakers can cut waste across the federal government. Sen. Joni Ernst, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Ranking Member of its Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, has been a leader in pushing the DoD to fully account for its money and complete a clean audit. She is also a leader in the Senate on calling out and identifying waste and pork spending throughout the federal government.
After the discussion with Senator Ernst, we’ll be joined by Elaine McCusker. Before her time at AEI, McCusker served more than 13 years at the Department of Defense, where she played a leading role in the DoD’s audit efforts. She is an expert on national security, defense budgets and the DoD audit process.
