Laws that Hurt People: A Look at Occupational Licensing

AFF-Philadelphia is excited to welcome Shoshana Weissmann, Digital Media Manager and Fellow at R Street Institute, to our latest event! Join us for a conversation as Shoshana will discuss how occupational licensing often prevents people from engaging in productive economic activity for no good reason, discusses different areas in which occupational licensing has made it harder for people to legitimate and valuable service, and reflects on efforts to reform occupational licensing. She will explain what occupational licensing is, when it is legitimate, and when it isn’t.

About our speaker: Shoshana manages R Street Institute’s social media and email marketing, in addition to contributing graphics and video skills. She also works on occupational licensing reform and other issues, and has written for various publications, including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
