Franklin Roundtable: Georgia Needs Additional Criminal Justice Reform
While Georgia has earned a well deserved reputation as a leader in criminal justice reform, Marc addresses the need for additional reforms that will make the state’s criminal justice system more just as well as more effective.
Marc Hyden is R Street’s Southeast region director. He is responsible for educating lawmakers and executive branch officials on R Street’s initiatives, testifying before legislative bodies, drafting op-eds, and representing R Street at political events
Marc joined R Street in February 2018. He comes most recently from Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty, a project of EJUSA, where he was a Senior Manager. Before that, he was a Campaign Field Representative with the National Rifle Association. Prior to his service with the NRA, Hyden was a Campaign Manager for a Republican congressional race in Western North Carolina. He also has served as the Legislative Liaison/Public Affairs Specialist with the State of Georgia and as the Legislative Aide to the Georgia Senate’s President Pro Tempore.
He is the author of 2017’s Gaius Marius: The Rise and Fall of Rome’s Saviour.
Marc graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in philosophy.
He lives in the metro Atlanta area.
