Data Privacy Day 2025: Opportunities for the 119th Congress

Featuring

Speakers and agenda to be announced

Overview

In recognition of Data Privacy Day 2025, the R Street Institute will host its fourth annual privacy outlook event on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Jan. 28, where experts will discuss the legislative and regulatory opportunities facing the new Congress and administration. The past two Congresses have experienced strong bipartisan interest in the enactment of a comprehensive data privacy and security law, but new committee leadership and a new administration will usher in fresh opportunities to renew the debate and advance data-privacy policy efforts even further.

Join us for a discussion followed by a reception that will bring together congressional staff and data privacy leaders. Our goal is to reflect on recent data privacy and security actions, explore where we might go, and identify implications for broader topics like artificial intelligence, online safety, and cybersecurity.
