Who Might Replace Sessions?
Sen. Jeff Sessions’ being floated as a potential member of Donald Trump’s administration is leading to names floating about as possible successors.
Sessions, R-Alabama, is most mentioned as a possible pick for attorney general and secretary of Defense. If he takes one of the posts, Gov. Robert Bentley would appoint his replacement.
In a column for AL.com, Cameron Smith, state programs director for Washington think tank R Street Institute, suggests that state Sens. Trip Pittman, who is budget chairman in the Alabama state Senate, and Cam Ward, though Ward was arrested for driving under the influence in 2015.
