Trouble brewing in emerging markets

How serious is the present turmoil in emerging market economies? Could it become a crisis and lead to a renewed global recession? And how responsible is the Federal Reserve’s unorthodox monetary policy for creating the situation? With the hindsight we have, at least so far, how are we to judge the Fed’s quantitative easing?
