Those interested in the future of insurance in the Sunshine State should register for the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Seventh Annual Insurance Summit, set for Jan. 15-17 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

This year’s session is titled “Taking the Long View: Sound Policy Today Strengthens Florida Tomorrow,” with an agenda that will feature sessions on Florida health care scorecard, the soaring cost of non-catastrophe property insurance claims, and a fresh look at storm surge in Florida. The agenda also features a presentation by Bob McClure, president and CEO of the James Madison Institute, who will discuss a JMI paper authored by R Street Senior Fellow R.J. Lehmann on “Ten reforms to fix Florida’s property insurance marketplace – without raising rates.”
