Every day, thousands of children are temporarily held in juvenile detention facilities as they await the court’s decision on their innocence or guilt. However, low staffing levels at these facilities are leading to dangerous effects on these children… such as solitary confinement for multiple days, which has led to an increase in suicidal behavior.
