R Street’s Jillian Snider joins CNN to discuss ICE and public trust in law enforcement

R Street Institute Resident Senior Fellow and retired NYPD Officer Jillian Snider joined CNN this morning to discuss the differences between undercover policing and ICE agents wearing masks and the consequences for public trust in law enforcement.

“The general public does not distinguish between federal agents and local law enforcement. So when federal agents go into local jurisdictions wearing masks and not making their identities known that hinders the operations of local law enforcement because then that community fails to trust the local law enforcement that are trying to keep them safe,” she said.
