Event: GRIMMCon 0x5 Keynote: Diversity is Security
From GRIMM Cybersecurity:
In the past couple of months, ransomware has become one of the most salient threats facing the cybersecurity community and the nation. With the Kaseya hack, JBS, and Colonial Pipeline—that may be true. But an even bigger danger lies in our community’s lack of diversity and the weakness in our cybersecurity workforce. A lack of diversity can make organizations more susceptible to vulnerabilities, as a homogenous workforce has a tendency to execute similar working styles, similar perspectives, and similar problem-solving techniques. On the other hand, diverse perspectives and viewpoints give a better picture of the evolving vulnerability landscape. The United States needs to view workforce diversity as a matter of national security, and hone in on action to foster a truly diverse cybersecurity workforce.
