Brooklyn shooting: How is New York’s subway policed?
Jillian Snider is a retired NYPD officer, and now serves as a Policy Director of Criminal Justice at the R Street Institute, and is an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
She says that there are six to eight thousand police officers dedicated to policing the subway, but with many track miles to cover, “That’s just so much area to cover, so I couldn’t speculate and say more training would have prevented something like this, because I don’t think that’s the case”.Featured Publications
