Accessing Hormonal Contraception by Pharmacy Prescriptions

States differ in their rules for pharmacy prescribing of hormonal contraception, the requirements for program certification, and the process for becoming a billable provider. For example, some states do not allow pharmacists to prescribe hormonal contraception to minors (younger than 18 years of age) or allow refills for people who have not seen a physician within a certain time frame.
