As the Texas Legislature begins its final sprint, lawmakers are taking up a far-reaching slate of legislation that will define the state’s response to February’s devastating, deadly winter storms. This group of bills is headlined by Senate Bill 3, the omnibus storm response measure, which should be up for a vote on the House floor in the coming days.
On Thursday May 20 at 10am, a distinguished panel of legislative and policy experts will lay out the enormous stakes of this legislation, the wide range of issues that are up for discussion across these bills, and the lingering potential for attacks on Texas electricity consumers, the environment, and the state’s clean energy industry that are unrelated to the winter blackouts.
