About Marc
Marc directs all of R Street’s state-level outreach and engagement and is personally responsible for educating lawmakers and executive branch officials throughout the southeastern United States on R Street’s initiatives. To this end, he testifies before legislative bodies, liaises with legislators, drafts op-eds and policy papers, and represents R Street at political events. He is also a syndicated newspaper columnist for The Newnan Times-Herald, The Albany Herald, the Rome News-Tribune, and others.
Prior to joining R Street, Marc served as senior manager for Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty, a project of Equal Justice USA. Before that, he was a campaign field representative with the National Rifle Association and campaign manager for a Republican congressional race in Western North Carolina. He also served as legislative liaison/public affairs specialist with the State of Georgia and as legislative aide to the Georgia Senate’s President Pro Tempore.
Marc is also a Roman historian and author of Gaius Marius: The Rise and Fall of Rome’s Saviour (2017), Romulus: The Legend of Rome’s Founding Father (2020), Marcus Furius Camillus: The Life of Rome’s Second Founder (2023), and Emperor Titus: The Right Hand of Vespasian (2025).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Georgia State University and lives in the metro Atlanta area.
