Featuring

[Moderator] Courtney Joslin, Resident Fellow and Senior Manager, Project for Women and Families, R Street Institute

Jacob Bastian, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Rutgers University

Overview

The Child Tax Credit (CTC), which currently benefits 40 million families, is set to expire at the end of this year. A renewed version of the CTC stalled in Congress in 2024, and with a new administration incoming, its future remains unknown.

Join the R Street Institute and a panel of experts who will discuss the merits and drawbacks of recent CTC proposals, how to improve the credit, and ways in which such programs affect childhood poverty. A reception with hors d’oeuvres and wine will follow the discussion.
