What Barr’s departure means for Google
Back in the states, discussion has already begun over what Europe’s new legislation means for U.S. tech policy. “Just as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rewrote the playbook for internet privacy and data protection, so too will the DSA transform content policy issues,” Chris Riley, senior fellow for internet governance at the R Street Institute, wrote in a blog post Monday, calling on U.S. lawmakers to “pay attention” as allies pave the way on internet policy.
