WASHINGTON (Oct. 5, 2020)—The R Street Institute is excited to welcome Tatyana Bolton as a managing senior fellow of the National Security and Cybersecurity team.

In this role, Ms. Bolton will oversee the Institute’s Cybersecurity and National Security policy program with a focus on cyber metrics, building capacity, building cyber policy capacity in local law enforcement, state and local cybersecurity, workforce policy and supporting innovation.

“I am excited to join R Street and look forward to continuing projects I started at the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, while delving into new and exciting terrain as we grow the R Street cybersecurity program, develop ground-breaking initiatives addressing the nation’s most pressing cybersecurity issues,” said Ms. Bolton. “I want to think boldly and act boldly, to partner with industry, academia, and the public sector and take strides towards achieving true national cybersecurity.”

Most recently, Ms. Bolton worked as the senior policy director for the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission focusing on U.S. government reorganization and resilience portfolios. From 2017-2020, Ms. Bolton also served at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as the cyber policy lead in the Office of Strategy, Policy and Plans where she developed strategies for strengthening the cybersecurity of our nation’s critical infrastructure. Ms. Bolton’s work included efforts on the Cyber Deterrence Strategy of the United States, the DHS Cybersecurity Strategy and the National Cyber Strategy.

Prior to her work at DHS, she served in various program management positions at Strategic Systems Programs for the U.S. Navy including budgeting, program management and contracting.
