Today, the R Street Institute announced that Alec Ulasevich joined its Harm Reduction program as a senior fellow.

For two decades, Ulasevich led teams dealing with public health, and designed and managed research projects evaluating health behavior change interventions, policy initiatives, mass media campaigns and more for a variety of federal and state government agencies—including the FDA and CDC, as well as private foundations. He is also an adjunct professor at Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University.

“Alec brings R Street a huge range of intellect, knowledge and experience. He shares our strong and abiding institutional commitment to the fact that, when it comes to harmful behavior, abstinence only-approaches are never and should never be the only public policy solution,” said Eli Lehrer, president of the R Street Institute.

Alec’s areas of study have included research into sexual behavior, vaccines, home health care and other areas. His work has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals including Social Marketing Quarterly, Health Education and Behavior and Journal of Health Communication.

Alec received his PhD in experimental psychology from Loyola University.
