Dr. Reiss argued that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un’s bombastic threats about targeting anywhere in the U.S. were unlikely to be true as of now. However, the nuclear and ICBM programs are bringing the Korean Peninsula close to open conflict. The Administration is taking steps to pressure the North Korean to end its pursuits, with the ultimate goal of preventing nuclear conflict on the Peninsula.
