Prominent free market and taxpayer advocacy organizations voiced concerns this week about expanding taxpayer-funded assistance for large farming operations in the upcoming farm bill.

Held via the Zoom platform, the speakers — David Ditch, Heritage Foundation; Chris Edwards, CATO Institute; Nan Swift, R Street Institute; Bryan Riley, National Taxpayers Union; Joshua Sewell, Taxpayers for Common Sense; and Scott Faber, Environmental Working Group — talked about lightening the load on taxpayers. All are from conservative or libertarian federal budget watchdog groups.
