About Gary

Dr. Gary Winslett is an assistant professor of political science at Middlebury College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Florida in 2009. He also received a PhD from Boston College in 2016.

In 2016-2017, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. His first book, Competitiveness and Death: Trade and Politics in Cars, Beef, and Drugs, examines the international negotiation over regulatory trade barriers in the automotive, meat and pharmaceuticals industries. His research focuses on trade politics, regulation and the technology sector.
