Erica Schoder advances R Street’s organizational vision by aligning its operational functions with its programmatic and organizational mission. She is responsible for the financial management of the organization and oversees its strategy, business development, people operations, facilities, information technology, finance, communications, legal and risk teams. Erica is a member of the executive team and treasurer of the board of directors.

In her role, she is focused on building a robust organizational culture ensuring that the work of R Street’s scholars results in real policy solutions.

Erica is an entrepreneur with a passion for freedom of expression and the open exchange of ideas. At 25, she founded Epilogue Book Co. in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Her independent bookstore quickly became a main street institution, hosting internationally recognized authors and incubating new community groups and non-profits like Integrated Community.  (So, if you ever want to talk about books and authors, her inbox is open.)

Erica is a graduate of the University of Iowa and a member of the Forbes finance council.

She lives in Munich, Germany with her partner, Alex and daughter, Leonora.
