WASHINGTON (July 14, 2017) – The R Street Institute today announced the addition of William Murray as federal energy policy manager, where he will help coordinate the advancement of free-market solutions to solve difficult problems regarding fuel choice diversity, climate change and conflicts over public lands.

“Bill is one of those rare individuals who is technically proficient with an ability to translate the complexities of energy policy into common-sense, actionable policy,” said R Street President Eli Lehrer. “He is, in short, everything R Street hopes to embody.”

Murray joined R Street from RealClearPolitics, where he was editor of the site’s Energy page for two years. Previously, he spent three years as a foreign policy and congressional reporter with the Energy Intelligence Group.

Earlier in his career, Bill worked for eight years at Bloomberg News as a reporter, both in Washington and for four years in the news service’s London bureau.

He has graduate degrees in journalism and security studies from Columbia University and Georgetown University, respectively. Bill lives in Crofton, Maryland, with his wife Jennifer, daughter Isabella and bull terrier mix Hamilton.
