WASHINGTON (July 7, 2016) – The R Street Institute announced today that it has hired Ryan Call as senior fellow and Central Region director, a role in which he will oversee operations in a number of Great Plains and Rocky Mountain states.

“I’m thrilled to be joining R Street and to have the opportunity to help promote free markets and develop and support pragmatic public policy solutions at the state and national level in this new regional role,” said Call.

Before joining R Street, Ryan was a partner at the firm Hale Westfall LLP, with a practice focused on corporate-entity formation and real-estate transactions. He previously served two terms as state chairman of the Colorado Republican Party and was a member of the Republican National Committee, in addition to serving as in-house counsel and political director for the Colorado Republican Party during the 2008 election cycle.

Ryan is an exceptional addition to our team. He brings strong political connections and policy instincts to our growing organization,” R Street State Programs director Cameron Smith said.

He was appointed by former Colorado Gov. Bill Owens to the Colorado Access to Justice Commission, served as national co-chairman of the College Republican National Committee and was a legislative aide in the Colorado General Assembly. He also has served stints with Students for Academic Freedom and the Center for the Study of Popular Culture.

Ryan has been a member of the Colorado Secretary of State’s Advisory Panels on Election Law and Campaign Finance and Lobbyist Regulation and is a member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee’s Election Law Task Force. He received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2005, and his MBA in finance and organizational management from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Ryan and his wife Brittany live with their four children in Arapahoe County, Colorado.
