Free Speech, the Individual and Online Content Intermediation (Session 1)

When: June 17 2021, 2pm ET
Where: Virtual

Panelists:

Note: This is the first of two events designed to showcase perspectives on the current state of online content intermediation and harm mitigation.

For the past several years, global, federal and state governments have contemplated how to manage online content—from the largest social platforms to the smallest. Experts will examine where mitigating harm online intersects with free expression and civil rights, what propositions exist to help balance these factors, what harms could arise from them that would impact individuals and how to balance these competing factors.

This discussion builds on, and is part of, R Street’s ongoing multistakeholder discussion of content policy issues; attendees will be able to contribute their perspectives to this process as well.
