Panelists:

Traditionally, advocates of action to address and mitigate the effects of climate change have sought to do so through legislation or regulatory action. Increasingly, however, advocates are pursuing less orthodox methods. In particular, municipalities, activist groups and even attorneys general have begun to bring suit against energy companies, seeking compensation for claimed climate damages. These lawsuits pose a wide variety of legal and policy questions.

R Street has gathered a distinguished panel to present the case for and against the use of such litigation, and to examine these lawsuits in the broader context of climate policy. Please join us for a lively discussion on this timely topic.
