McCarty’s travel defended as bridge-building
“It’s a great benefit for him to be travelling around developing relationships with insurers and reinsurers around the world,” said Christian Camara, Florida director of the R Street Institute, a free market think tank staffed by former Heartland Institute members that has been critical of McCarty in the past. “Florida is in a very, very unique position as far as other states. Our property insurance market is a lot more important to us than other states.”
