From Politico Morning Energy:

Green Scissors, an advocacy coalition that brings together Friends of the Earth, Taxpayers for Common Sense and The R Street Institute, wants the Senate Finance Committee to refrain from adding tax breaks for carbon capture technology to an FAA reauthorization bill. The bill was passed by the Senate without a package of tax breaks, but the House may change the bill enough that the Senate will have to pick it up again. In a letter to Sens. Orrin Hatch and Ron Wyden, the Republican and Democratic leaders of the committee, respectively, the group says, “After more than a decade of federal subsidies, CCS is a failed investment of our tax dollars and a failed attempt to limit the carbon emissions from burning coal.”
