Approaching peak Redl-mania
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will no longer object to the Trump administration’s nomination of David Redl to lead the Commerce Department’s NTIA division, John reported Monday. All concerns were also resolved for Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), per his spokesman Mike Anderson. (Sullivan echoed Cruz’s worries about Redl’s internet governance views during an Oct. 4 markup.) No one is happier about this turn of events than the R Street Institute’s Joe Kane, the internet’s chief Redl fan. Upon the news of Cruz lifting his hold, Kane tweeted: “There are spontaneous rallies breaking out everywhere! Hard to hear anything over the chant of REDL! REDL! REDL! This is approaching peak #redlmania.”
