From The Arizona Republic:

Jillian Snider, a 14-year veteran of the New York Police Department and policy director for criminal justice at the R Street Institute, a conservative-leaning policy research group, said nobody should expect anything from the department for at least a year.

“They could take years,” Snider said.

The investigation, announced by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday, is the third “pattern or practice” investigation this year from the Biden administration’s Justice Department.

Snider, the R Street Institute researcher, noted, “Even though the DOJ might go in and launch an investigation, that doesn’t mean that there will be a consent decree based on their findings.”

And even a forceful decree with an individual department may not solve larger problems.
