FCC taking important steps to promote broadband deployment
“The FCC’s consistent deregulatory approach helped Americans stay connected throughout the COVID-19 pandemic” explained R Street Resident Fellow Jeffrey Westling. “However, we can’t rest on our laurels, and more reforms to broadband’s regulatory structure must continue as the country continues deploying next generation broadband networks. The important infrastructure reforms adopted today, as well as the clarifications to the FCC’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order and the increased availability of unlicensed spectrum, will increase investment in a wide swath of next generation broadband services and prepare the country for future innovations and crisis.”
