From Politico Morning Tech:

Tesla, Honda, Ford and HP are among the companies urging the FTC to keep up its antitrust battle with Qualcomm. An appeals court determined earlier this month that Qualcomm did not abuse a monopoly position in wireless chips and overcharge companies to license its patents. In a letter orchestrated by ACT | The App Association, industry players and advocacy groups are now asking the agency’s five commissioners to seek a broader legal review of that decision. The FTC has until Sept. 25 to request a rehearing.

The fact that Tesla, Honda and Ford are putting their names on the letter is notable. The lawsuit’s outcome could affect how much money they ultimately pay for chips used in driverless vehicles. Other signatories on the letter include the Center for Democracy & Technology, the Computer & Communications Industry Association, Public Knowledge and the R Street Institute.
